This brief overview will only deal with one of the most common Davey pumps: Pressure pumps.
Buying the right Davey water pump for the job is critically important and most people wouldn’t be able to make that decision without some expert guidance.
There are a lot of factors that come in to play when it comes to selecting the right Davey pressure pump.
The first question to ask yourself is: what is the pump going to be used for?
For example, is it just going to be connected to a water tank so a garden hose can be attached to it so as to water the garden and wash the car or maybe it’s going to drive an irrigation system and if so, is it a drip irrigation system or a sprinkler system. Greater pressure is required to run a sprinkler system than a drip system.
Is the pump going to be used to flush the toilets and feed the washing machine or is it going to do all the above as well as provide water to the bathroom for the basins, shower and also kitchen?
If it is going to be providing water inside the house then is it single story or multiple stories and how many toilets and bathrooms are involved.
Answers to the above will help determine the flow, pressure and type of Davey pump required for the job.
The higher the flow and pressure required, the larger the pump and also the price.
Home water pressure systems suitable for most single storey homes.

Davey water pumps are known worldwide for the quality and reliability, and the Garden Range has been developed to live up to this enviable reputation. While the domestic backyard may not be as harsh as the Australian outback, Davey know that reliability is just as important to its customers.
Important components like bearings, capacitors, seals, controls and tanks have all been specified to Davey standards. The range of garden watering pumps will provide a dependable, value for money investment.
Available as a manual or automatic system controlled by a press control
Suitable for connection to garden hoses, sprinkler and dripper systems
The main purpose of a pressure tank connected to a Davey pump is to stop it cycling (IE the pump turning on and off all the time when small amounts of water are required).
An example of where a pressure tank would be used is where a pump is being used to feed water to a house. If an Automatic controller was used to turn the pump on and off every time when someone wanted a small amount of water or a tap was leaking, the pump would have to turn on to send the water to the tap and turn off again when the tap is turned off. In the case of a leak, the pump would be continually turning on and off.
However if a pressure tank was fitted it would feed small amounts of water to the tap from the tank without having to turn on the pump. The amount of water held in the pressure tank varies with the size of the pressure tank. A pressure tank is a great energy saving device minimising the amount of time the pump turns on over its life. It will also prolong the life of the pump.
